We hardly ever need to run the heat but it got cold enough here last night that we turned the heat on gas. Does the diesel switch need to be on to do this?

they Hydro Hot in our '04 Allure runs off diesel and electric. We were told to turn on both the diesel and the electric switches if we were plugged in to shore power. If not hooked to shore power we only use the diesel switch. The diesel boiler will fire up when the demand is there (the electric can't keep up). The thermostat should be set on "furnace"

Yes. Turn on the diesel swtich, set the thermostat control to gas heat, set the temp, and you should be good to go. David w 06 Intrigue 11993

Thanks for the info. I was pretty sure it should be on.
