If one of your slides is making a bad noise going in/out, better check it. My curb side front side, which has the sink and cabinets, was doing that. It is an HWH Hydraulic unit. All my comments are from the coach interior.
The sound was coming from the right end. I removed the fluted side column (held in by Velcro). On inspection I found the problem. The 'U' track for the hydraulically controlled chain mechanism is in place there and has a rectangular sheet metal plate cover, held in place by 3 screws (rather small) along the right side. I later noted that the chain guides are along the left inside of the track channel and screws could not be used on that side.
The top 2 screws had broken off at the screw shank/thread juncture. The plate then tipped so the top left edge was scrapping the exterior side of the slide box (yuck!).
The solution was to mount heavier gauge screws. There is also a piece of opaque, white plastic that the chain rollers ride on that had to be straightened, glued and remounted.
Anyone interested in details, chime in.

Lee, my curb side galley slide makes a groaning/creaking noise. I can't really say it is coming from the right or left end. I see no evidence of any scrape marks on the slide exterior. At the left end (front behind the passenger seat) there is a pleated curtain of sorts that hides the mechanism. I plan to take out the screws and see what I can see behind that curtain.
At the other end is the pantry and it looks like the entire pantry would have to be removed to get to the mechanism at that end.
The slide moves find but just makes noise.

Lee. Thanks for the detailed analysis of the slide noise I have the same HWH slide which is Sometimes referred to as a scissor mechanism I'll check for possible problems. Bob 06 intrigue 12047

Nothing I can say on the odd noise except have someone stand in the middle front of the slide as it moves and try to walk to and pinpoint the noise area and work from there.
Bob, a visual inspection would take less than 10 minutes, doing it with the slide about 1/2 way in/out. You'll need a flashlight or shop light. Be sure to determine if any of the 3 screws are broken. Look for the plastic to be pushed out of place, though it's hard to see with the face plate on. You should be able to see the top end of the plastic strip.

Gary,
I am interested about what is behind the curtain but have been fearful of undoing the screws, I would like to hear your results, please. Michael 2008 Allure 31683

Our intrigue was making the groan/Creak noise and the cure was a little wax at the lower corners of the slides.

Tom, I will let you know as soon as I remove the screws and take a look. I have talked to Kevin Waite about this and was going to try and wait until we can get out to Oregon this summer and let him take a look at it.

Michael, I released the pleated curtain today. From what I can see of the scissors slide mechanism, there is nothing amiss. No loose screws, no evidence of anything scraping or rubbing except for a very small area on one of the scissor arms that looks like it was rubbed by the adjacent arm. Anyway, I plan to lube all the pivot points and that big chain since it appears to slide over some sort of metal cam.

Thanks Gary, clearly nothing sprung out having been secured with any of the screws. Which lot did you release the ones on the coach body or those on the slide?

I removed four screws holding the pleated curtain against the coach wall.

Hello Everyone,
I purchased a 2000 CC Intrigue in January. Took it to Florida for a week and the slide worked fine. I live in Central Ohio, so I only had the slide out once since then. Again it worked fine. I detailed the coach out yesterday and thought I should put the slide out, but it wouldn't extend. It was level , I checked the hydraulic fluid, it was good. The pump and motor would come on, but the slide wouldn't extend. I'm a newbie with this coach, and I'm not sure what to try next. I've cleaned all the electrical connection I could that was in the driver's side first bay. Any help or a pdf file that you could provide would be greatly appreciated !!
Thanks !!

You can call HWH in Moscow Iowa directly and they will assist. Might take awhile for them a technician to call you back as this is their busy time of year. 563-724-3396 ask for service.
Make sure parking brake is set.

I had the same problem. On the solenoid on the HWH manifold system located in the front compartment, back the nut on 1/2 to 3/4 turn. You should see the slide come out a bit. Now go inside and activate the extend switch. If the slide goes out, you could have bad extend/retract switch. I replaced the switch and tore the old one apart. As you can see in the pictures, one side of the switch had the little "tit" missing from the plunger causing that portion of the switch to not work. This is what would open up the extend solenoid.

On my '02 Magna, the ignition switch has to be on ( not ACC, ON) for the slide-outs to extend.

Steve,
Same thing happened to me once, start the coach and try it, if that works then it's probably your batteries.

You probably have the problem resolved by now. If so, what did you do? Only problem we've had with slides on our '05 Inspire were related to a blown fuse in the compartment where the motor is located, and the brake. The slide will not go out if the fuse is blown. If the brake is not released the slide won't 'go out. We had a problem once where the brake was not engaged and the slide started going out on the road. We manually engaged the brake (it's supposed to engage/release automatically) to fix the problem.
