Larry,
Scottsdale/Phoenix is always a tough one for a good RV park. We are in the Phoenix area about three times per year and have tried most of the parks. Since we also visit Scottsdale often we have finally settled on Apache Palms in Tempe. It is the closest to Scottsdale even though it is not what you would call the ideal park. It is a little tight and usually full due to its location. The metro rail passes right in front of the park for convenient access to downtown Phoenix. The park has lots of long term folks but it is generally clean and well kept. My pet peeve with them is their $3 per dog, per night extra charge. My two little Papillions object! Good luck in your search.
BTW, we live in Las Cruces so if we can be of help on your way through give us a shout.

On your way to Scottsdale, I recommend a stop in Tucson. Lots of reasons to spend a few days here. Stay at Voyager or Lazy Days RV Park on the south end of town and sally forth to the towns of Tombstone and Bizbee AZ, then to the Minute Man Missile Silo, Kartchner Caverns, Davis Monthan AFB Museum, Old Tucson Movie Studio, and the Desert Museum. Then move to Catalina State Park. You will love that place. From there, it is a short drive to the Biosphere 2. It is an exceptional facility now that it is being run bu the U of A.
You might also consider moving to the Catalina park earlier and then going to the movie studio and Desert Museum from there. The drive isn't much longer. My personal preference would be to spend more time at the Catalina State Park. Lots of good restaurants near that park, too.
Have fun.

For Scottsdale, hands down our top choice is

Lazy Days is a great spot in Tucson... we spent several weeks there and will go back.

I stay there too from time to time to visit school buddies and fellow CC owners who live in the area. The new grounds keeper is basically lazy compared to the former as the former never let one pebble be out of place. If you are looking for a quiet park in the middle of Tempe its a good choice. There are parks, resorts further out in Mesa, that are great for staying the winter, with all sorts of activities and entertainment.

Second the Destiny Edge Park, checked out a number of parks and felt it was the best we had seen (ho-hum). My only compliment is I do not like pads that are rocks. Spent a number of days ay Lazy Days in Tucson, Eric of Premier working on the Coach, does excellent work. Lots of things to see and some really nice small restaurants. Will be more attuned to Parks that do not allow certain animals. If the gentleman could share more of his experiences, that would helpful. We do not travel with animals.
