I just got my EOA back and Cat said my copper and sodium are up with 2600 miles on the oil, Mobil 15w40 5/13 copper 8----2020 miles 4/14 copper 73 -----2600 miles 5/13 sodium 10---2020 miles 4/14 sodium 34-----2600 miles Total miles 20,900
Here is what they said
The levels of copper and sodium are high. Readings indicated the possibility of coolant contamination our physical test (glycol) tested negative. Monitor by taking frequent samples.
So my question is does anyone have any ideas where the copper could be coming from, will resample in 1000mi.

The mechanic might have cross contaminated you oil sample with unclean equipment. Happened to me once.

No Lee
I pulled the sample and sent it in to Cat and just got the e-mail form letter back. They just did a valve adj. so when I got it home I changed the oil and filter, now this can up.

Humm, I assumed the sample was taken at a shop.

Could be lab error. I would not worry till I saw a second confirming lab report.
