We had Holland Motorhomes in San Diego have someone restring one of our shades. They reset the tension, too....never knew they were supposed to be easy to put up and down! Jan McNeill

Gene just restrung a 4 hole shade on our 2000 Country Coach Allure by Specialty Window Coverings, division of Decorator Industries in Elkhart, Indiana. He restrung the small shade next to the door a year ago. If yours are by this manufacturer, they will give you help over the phone. (574)262-5910. They sent us the strings and diagrams free of charge, then answered questions over the phone. Be sure to measure the height of the shade carefully and don't cut the strings until you have definitely determined the proper length of each. If you want them to do it, they will let you mail it to them and do the restringing for a charge of something like $12.00 (?) if I remember correctly.

I had a day n night restrung in Portland, OR and they took two weeks and charged me $35. Next time I'll do it myself. We have day n nights in the bedroom and venetian blinds in the front. Should be the other way around! You can't get any air through the bedroom at night unless the day n nights are all the way up = no privacy. When the string breaks next time, I'll seriously consider blinds.

The shades are made by Specialty Window Coverings, 800-338-1133. They will either send you new string, with instructions, or give you info to mail your shade to them for restringing at no charge.
