My son owns a 1997 Intrigue with Onan LP generator. Several weeks ago the utility circuit developed intermittent low voltage, the air conditioners, refrigerator circuits all were steady at 120v ac. This corrected itself for a few weeks and then generator output failed totally. Generator engine runs smoothly but no output at all to transfer switch. zI am trying to help him and thanks in advance for any advice. David White 99 Allure 30349. Replace the brushes, clean the slip rings, then test - if still no power, then ohm out the rotor & stator, if all that is good then voltage regulator. Usually when the reg starts to go bad the voltage will be unsteady depending on amount of load
Just did 2 this week, one was a bad stator $800 the other was a bad regulator $550

Good luck!

Copy, thanks for the help! I am thinking it might be the regulator, but we will see soon enough. We will post the end results to aid anyone else encountering this same issue. Thank you again and hi dad!
