Title: A couple of annoying things

When I purchased my coach it came with the "TIRE MONITORING SYSTEM II" that is tied into the "Silverleaf System." It works as it should, the annoying part is that I do not know when it is going to come onto the Silverleaf. It might be 10 mins at the start of the trip or 2 hrs into the trip. Then once it comes on, it will not leave unless I push Scan. Does anyone know how to make the tire monitoring system work on a regular basis or when I want to monitor the tires?
On several panels in the coach there is a button for the "Water Pump." But none on them seem to make a difference when they are pushed. They light up, but it the system does not change. If the main water pump switch is off, none of these switches will turn on the main water pump. Is this normal ?
Thanks for any input

Dave, we have the same year Allure with same Smart Tire monitoring system. Mine seems to come alive pretty quickly and I get readings from all 8 tires, even when sitting still. I have read that the battery life in the sensors is about 6 -7 years so I am thinking they will start dying soon. If they do, I am not sure what I will do. I understand the systems is no longer in production so not sure we have the option to replace sensors.

On the pump, any of the push buttons in our coach (two in bath area, one at galley) will turn the water pump on or off. I do know the water pump rocker switch in the wet bay is in the 'off' position and all my interior switches work as described.

I have heard the same thing about the battery life. I called the tire guy in Junction City and he said that each cost about $80 to replace. That does not include the labor to remove the tire, deflate the tire, change the battery and reinstall the tire. Times 8, Whew..could be costly.
While traveling, I try and keep about 15 gals of water as we travel, if I park maybe for lunch or such and at an angle where the water is away from the pump the pump comes on and runs continuously, unless I go out and turn the pump off at the main switch at the water bay. That is the annoying part of this minor problem. Just looking to see if anyone had this problem and might have fixed it.

WHY WOULD ANYONE CARRY ONLY 15 GAL OF WATER WHILE TRAVELING? WHAT IF YOU BREAK DOWN, DO YOU NOT EVER USE THE COMMODE ?

THE WEIGHT OF WATER SHOULDN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO THE WEIGHT OF YOUR COACH, OR FUEL MILAGE...

Even when I had the 98 Allure with the tire issues and being over weight on the left front I always carried full water. What do you do when you are in the middle of no where and you need water when a radiator hose busts. It happened to me, or when you get to Harrisbuirg, Oregon and you find the water at the RV park cloudy white as is all unfiltered water in the town.

We do use the toilet during travel and I feel that the amount of water will last us even if we break down. If I have a hose burst...I'm not sure if my water tank was full it would be enough to get me very far. It might, but we each travel differently and that is what I'm comfortable with. with these suggestions I might rethink my opinion. Thanks for your opinions....
