I have the HWH 2000 air leveling system in my '06 Inspire (which has air bag leveling and suspension but not the active air ride suspension). For over 2 years I have been battling an intermittent problem that would only occur when the weather was warm (above 80-85 deg).. After parking and preparing to level the coach (placing the transmission in Neutral and the parking brake on), about 75-85% of the time, I get a NOT IN PARK BRAKE indication when I push the AIR button to level. Sometimes, if I try pushing the button repeatedly, it MAY go into level mode (but usually will not). I have cleaned the contacts at the air solenoid that feeds the HWH system - no improvement. I installed a switch that allows me to connect the park brake sense wire (to the HWH system) directly to ground - no improvement. I even removed the HWH control box and soldered a wire directly to the pad on the printed wiring board that I could then ground with a switch (thinking that it could be a bad connector pin coming into the box or a cold solder joint between the connector pin and the PWB - I am retired after spending 43 years designing/troubleshooting airborne radar systems - cold solder joints are all too often an issue). The last modification worked well for several weeks (while the weather was still very cool). However, when the weather started warming up again, the problem reoccurred. So now, I am back to my original theory that there is a temperature issue in the control box and need to return the unit to HWH for analysis/repair.
Now, I come to my questions:
1. Has anyone else had an issue like this? If so, do you know what the repair action was?
2. Assuming that I pull the control box and send it to HWH, I would like to be able to continue to use the coach. If I have the coach in the Travel Mode and the air suspension is at the ride height when I shut down the coach and remove the control box, will the air suspension remain at ride height so I can travel in the coach (knowing that I will have to park on level ground when camping to have a level coach to stay in)? I have placed a call to HWH asking this question but I have not received a call back.

We had an intermittent problem with our HWH not exactly like your issue but frustrating. The travel mode light would go out and the dash HWH warning light would come on. We took it to HWH and it took 4 days for them to find the problem. They were professional and their prices were more than reasonable.
The reason they haven't called back is that this time of year they are extremely busy. They said during their busy season, it may take up to 2 weeks for them to return your call. I would definitely talk to their tech person.
On our coach, they found some wires not connected, rebuilt the control box, replaced several air valves. Reprogrammed the control box with updated software.

I am no expert about any system on these motor homes. I do know from personal experience that the individual valve bodies used to separate the leveling/travel system require electric stimulus to allow air to the actual ride height valves. You would not be able to add air in the event of a leak in the air ride system, which is an option when we disable the HWH control by removing the fuse the powers the control box. I think you would need to be able to activate the individual travel valves, which (if I remember right) would require current be applied in order to allow air to the ride height valves without the HWH control head available.
If you don't have one, complete service and trouble shooting manuals are available at the HWH website.
