Title: Ride height, air bags & dumping (air)

While at the rally in September I got the impression that for long term storage it was best to dump all the air.
From that comment I had assumed that when the air is completely dumped the coach body settles down onto the axles until coming into contact with some form of solid stop, positioned to stop the coach body coming into contact with the tires.
From recent comments it almost appears that the coach settles down on top of the tires?
I am not able to check my coach right now but would appreciate someone commenting on this point. Is this something that happens with the earlier coaches but not with the later ones?

Funny, I just ask the same question to Gentry at CC this week. He said the same thing. Best to dump air. I am sure the chassis will not allow the body to rest on the tires. Our dealer demo that without any concern.

My thoughts are how level you are may cause you to wonder about the refrigator. Is it ok to leave it out of level (not operating) for long periods of time. We have not had a problem in the past but new technology brings new lessons.

I plan to contacting the Mfg to make sure.

When the coach goes down straight it doesn't hit the side of the tires but when my left rear ride height failed, the left side of the coach cut into the tire because of the angle of being completely down on one side but not the other. This was while driving thru Denton, TX on I-35! The fuse to pull is in the HWH box and on my Magna it was # 4 ignition fuse. This allowed me to level the coach and drive on to Buddy Greggs for service. What happens if you don't pull the fuse, you level the coach to a good ride height for driving but when you turn the ignition on it collapses again.

I have a 2000 Allure that was manufactured in January 2000. It has the Toyo 12R22.5 tires. When I park the coach in a storage lot I dump the air bag suspension and let the coach rest down on the frame stops. I have checked before and I have at least a 2 inch clearance above all tires when down on the stops.
