Looking for info about how a 34 ft cc allure will handle a trailer 20 foot long with a 5000 lb load. It has a cat 400.
Will it make the front end light and cause bad steering. Sure it will have enough power but will it be safe.
All infi will help.
Thanks

Bill,

Our 2005 36' Inspire pulls our 8,000# horse trailer with absolutely no problems.

I pull a 20' enclosed trailer with a spec Miata race car about 5000 pounds with all the goodies. I use a weight distribution hitch no idea if it helps or not, the CC hitch is 7000 pound so I work hard to keep the tongue weight correct. Pulls, stops, steers fine just a little slower going up grades. We have a 8.3 Cummins in a 36' Allure.

we have a 95 36' Intrigue and pull a 20' trailer with racing corvette with only a 300hp cummins so your 400 would work fine

This past year we decided to pull a trailer with a Jeep Cherokee and a Kawasaki Side by side. Yes, we love the dirt! The tongue weight was 1000 lb so we were a little concerned about that. On our coach the hitch is very strong so we decided to go for it without a load distributing hitch.
It towed perfectly! The air system keeps everything level and the front axle has enough weight that the weight transfer is insignificant. A bonus is that unlike a flat tow we can now back up if needed.
When we first bought the coach I called CC and inquired about the hitch rating and they said that they are very under rated and could tow much more than the stated capacity.
