Howdy Folks!

Owing to unreasonable premium increases from National Interstate, we decided to switch insurance carriers. Jeannie wrote up the details which is on our blog here:

Safe travels to one and all.

Scott, glad it has worked for you but I sing a different tune. I am with NI and got a quote from Blue Sky. For the same coverage, they were within dollars of each other. Also, on another forum there have been multiple complaints about BS low balling a quote and then the next policy period making up for it by really raising the rate.
I am going to hit all the insurance companies at the FMCA convention in Redmond.

This is always the problem when getting a recommendation is so many variables. Driver's age record any other coverage, how many miles driven and of course what state each are in.

I couldn't agree more. We'll see what happens with BS over time. I'm hoping our experience will be a positive one. We're both very happy with our agent (Gina) and I think that is HUGE when it comes time for the insurance company to settle a claim. A good agent can help in such matters.

As for some background, I'm 59 and Jeannie is 55. Both our driving records are spotless and we've never put in any insurance claims in the last 6 years. Knock on wood. As for annual miles driven, that question never surfaced. Safe travels.

Just for kicks and for curiosity, I filled out the online info for a rate quote from Blue Sky and never got a response. Perhaps they don't do business in my state?
