Well the 02 intrigue was not so good soooo weare going to go look at a 1999 Magna with a 385hp cat and a single slide. Anything special to look at on this model year? Has new tires,8 new air bags, all new batteries, flat screen tvs and just serviced at cat. Will the he Magna have independent front suspension?

I met 99 owners at the 2000 Home coming rally and some were complaining about the C-10 over
heating. The Allison and Silver leaf reps said it was because they were not shifting down to keep the
rpm up to move the coolant and accelerate the speed of the cooling fan. I don't know if it was the case
or if they had genuine issues. Some of the C-12's and C-13's had issues, too. All I can say for sure is
buyer be ware. Hopefully a bunch of Cat owners will chime in and prove I'm wrong, seeing how I drive a
dog. (inside joke, Cummins) 2004 Intrigue 11731

I owned a 2004 Allure with ISL and now 2003 Magna with C-12. No problem with overheating in either case. I frequently caravan with lots of ISLs, C-12s and C-13s. None seem to be a problem on the road.

I have a 2002 Magna 42, C12 CAT. Tow a 8000lb SUV behind it. In the Rockies most of the time. Never overheated under any circumstances even in 100F weather going up steep passes. Original radiator (not aluminum), fan controller, etc. I have noticed the radiator on this coach is considerably larger than others I have seen.

I have the '99 Magna with 385 hp C-10. It has treated me well. I replaced the radiator at around 65,000 miles as preventive maintenance. I hate I unscheduled repairs. I never had any problems with overheating, but I always shift down as needed. I usually pull a 20' trailer with a car and other items. I don't even feel it is back there. The factory dash temp gauge was never right when I got the coach. It always read hot. But the digital CAT display showed the correct temps. Last year I adjusted the voltmeter and put LED lights in the dash gauges. Oddly enough, the temp gauge now reads correctly. I replaced all the ride height adjusters last year when one was getting weak. I also carry 2 spares in case of failure. I am getting ready to put on a new set of tires, solar panels, and an inverter upgrade.
Overall, I have been very happy with this coach. I think you will be too.

We had our '99 Magna for 8 1/2 years and drove it over 100,000 miles with no major issues. It will not have the turning radius of the new coaches but we never had a big issue with that. You just learn what you can and cannot do. It is the only year/model with the 8 airbags and they ride like a dream. We pulled everything from a diesel Dodge 1 ton flat towing to an enclosed trailer with a car and never knew they were back there. The 385 is a hotrod in that coach. Ours had simple, intuitive and redundant systems that kept us going in a variety of parks and dry camping. We really enjoyed our Magna!

Another happy 99' Magna owner. Never had any trouble at all with the CAT C-10, but like the others, I downshift as needed. Like Tammy said, rides like a dream. I've never driven a IFS front end, so I'm used to the turning radius and have no idea what I might be missing ;-)

We have a 1999 Magna we purchased two years ago, I looked at coaches of all brands and ages and was won over by the quality of the Country Coach interior finish and design. We have the Cat C10, and outside of upgrading TV's and a few cosmetic fixes to the exterior found bring the coach up to today's standard was quite easy. I have heard the independent front suspension is an improvement in ride and turning radius, but cannot say we have had a bad experience in either category in our unit.
We just completed a three week, 2500 mile trip, all was well, my wife commented that we should keep on going!
We have found the 99' Magna to be an excellent value, wonderful comfort, and expect that it will last a long time, and updating items is fairly easy as the core of the rig, the chassis and drivetrain have changed little for 15 years.
All the best,

Andy, We have a 98 Magna, love it. What modifications did you have to do to upgrade the tvs?
