My wife would like me to install a cb in the motorhome but im unsure of the antenna location or how to get the wire to the roof. Has anyone had a cb installed or know how the wire was run to the roof? I have heard that the radio wire may have a spliced connection but I have not found it. My wiring diagram shows only the radio antenna. Can I get a tee and double up? Any advice? Rod

I have a CB in my Allure which I installed. I picked up power from behind the dash where I had created an AUX DC supply fuse box. The power cable runs under the dash to the side of the windscreen and up inside the cable run cover at the edge of the screen. The problem I had was the ground plane. I was able to get inside the front cap and fixed a large sheet of very thin copper plate which I bolted the antenna through. I also ran cables out from each side of the plate around to the sides of the coach. (All inside and behind the panels). I fitted one of these which meant just a handset on view at the dash, the black box up under the cap, means a very short coax run. Not sure if you can get them in the US? NEW POLMAR VENUS AM/FM MULTISTANDARD CB RADIO
This gave me a satisfactory reading on the meter. I cannot remember all the jargon as it was 2 years ago.

I put mine on windshield post on the drivers side That way you can bolt it to the steel tube that supports the roof so it has the ground plan of the frame. You can remove the cover on the inside for acc.

I tried connecting to the steel frame, which I could access inside the cap, but did not get a satisfactory reading on the meter for some reason. But it was all beyond me!!

I took my RV to a CB shop and they put on a ant. that does not need a ground. It works fine now! DMG ALLURE 2000 # 30498

These guys have both ground plane and no-ground plane antennas. I have a no-ground plane that's working great.

Interesting, DW and I were talking about this very thing today. We had a little Cobra CB in our previous coach and I did not use it often.

The Firestik thru-the-wall NGP looks like just want I would need. However, any recommendations on a decent radio? I've seen them with SWR adjustment knobs so wonder if that is an advantage if you need to fine tune for optimal performance.

The ngp looks like it would be a clean install but I would like to not have anything on the side of the RV. I am looking at getting to the roof cap in front but still need to dig around.
