Hope someone can help contacted HWH they have not gotten back to me.
I am at a campground and have tried to level and the driver side will not come up no matter what I do. I even put boards under the tires to try and level, no go.
Am not an electronics person so I do not even know where to begin to look for the problem.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Brad

Will it go into ride height and just not level on the site?
If so how un level is the site? Is the other side all the way down. HWH tries to drop the high side first, then raise the low side. It may be you HWH level compressor is not running? I assume you have pushed the button twice? Have you tried to manually level?

Hi Brad.

I also have a 1998 Intrigue (#10661). I have not experienced this issue myself but have heard many others discuss it. The common problem is a ride height sensor. There are three on the coach; 2 in front and 1 in back I believe. I carry a spare sensor as this is apparently a common problem which is easily fixed.

Contact Kevin Waite at 541-953-6162 or kvn.wt.7629@... and he can get one sent to you and probably tell you how to diagnose & replace it too. He has been an immense help to me with parts and fixing stuff in my Intrigue that I got as a repairable.

II have a 97 Intrigue. A couple of weeks ago the back of the coach went down. Tried to rase the back manual would not go up on one side in the back. I now have it in the shop they found one air bag with a hole in it. We are having both replaced. Total cost around $2000. We are in Dallas.

Have had trouble all along with leveling, sometimes it will level at a park then go off.

The front is up some the back is not.
Driving is no problem the drive height is fine. Have pushed the button twice and tried to manually level no go.

As for the site I have been in worse it is not that bad and I was here last year and leveled even though after a couple of weeks it would go off It could level again.
Thanks!

There are so many components that it is very difficult to diagnose.
There is the touch pad, a brain control box, several air valves (5), compressor and sensors and air bags.
We took our coach to HWH to troubleshoot. It took them 4 days to find the problem which was intermittent air valve sticking. They hit it with a hammer to find out that it worked some times. The problem showed on our coach as not being at ride height.

Can you hear the compressor?

Can you hear air leaking from the air bag?

I would wait for HWH to call you back. They are extremely busy this time of year and it takes 2 weeks for them to return calls. They do have documentation online that helped us, but we still couldn't fix it ourselves.

Where are you? Perhaps there is a shop nearby that works on HWH.

Might want to keep the "good" old bag as an emergency spare!

Is the leveling compressor running when it tries to raise the low side?

You all realize there was a recall on Intrigues and Allures in 2000. All the coaches with 2 ride height

valves in the front and one in the rear were supposed to have them swapped. One in the front and two in the rear like all the remaining Country coaches and coaches produced after Summer of 2000. That's

one of the main issues why so many coaches with 275 R 70 tires had failures. Because a single =tire could not handle the dynamic rolling forces of the coach side to side.
Statically yes. But not in motion.
I received a telegram not to move the coach until provisions had been made and parts procured to place

the two ride height valves in the rear and the single in front.
Fortunately I was at a Home Coming rally in Eugene and the factory fixed the coach. That's also when I up graded from 275R70 Toyo to 275R80

Continentals at CC expense. I had four sets of front tires replaced due to cracking, separation, and

shredding of the over loaded 275R 70's that I was running at 120 lbs. It was supposed to be higher,

but the wheels wouldn't take any more. I had a 36 ft Allure that measured 37' 10" with the kitchen

slide and the left front out weighed the right by 1200 lbs before the ride height valve swap. Then the

differences was 680 lbs before the factory, Larry Sherwood, and I repacked the coach. Then the

difference was 500 lbs as I remember. So some day if you have the 40" ft coaches I would go to Iowa

and have HWH correct the situation. TWI, at the time 1998 Allure 30255.

Larry,

That sounds extremely expensive. I bought one for my affinity tag and it seems like it was about $150-200 and it took me less than a hour to change. I am planning on changing all six of them before I take it out again. It seems like there is a heightened awareness about the rubber on the tires aging and needing to be replace but I don't see much concern about the rubber on the air bags and the diaphragms in the air brakes and air lines. I've already changed out all the air lines, air brake diaphrams, hydraulic lines and the air bags are next. I'm hoping it will cost me less than a $1000 for all six.

Kevin, that's encouraging that you were able to change your air bag within an hour. Just curious, which chassis do you have? Is it a Dynamic or Gillig (sp). Thanks

Kevin,

I was not able to get under the coach. It was all the way down. National indoor RV Center is doing the work. The cost for the air bags were $500 each.

Larry,

It has a Dynamic chassis. I have a friend that is a Mobile diesel repair mechanic and he came over and showed me his tricks. It was probably closer to 30 minutes.
