Sorry hit the wrong button...

I'm looking at a 1997 40' Intrigue with a 300 hp rated motor. How do I tell if it's a 5.9 or 8.3 ?? I have some of the original doc's but they only list 300hp/Cummins.
Thanks
Michael

MICHAEL,

GO TO THE BACK OF THE RV, OPEN IT UP. TAKE A LIGHT WITH YOU, LOOKING AT THE ENG. ON YOUR RIGHT, RIGHT NEXT TO THE AC UNIT, THE ROUND THING WITH A FAN BEAL ON IT, IF?IT IS LIKE MINE???YOU WELL SEE A FLAT STOP, CLEAN IT OFF AND IT HAS THE INFOR. FOR THE ENG. ON IT..
IF????IT DOES NOT TELL YOU WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. YOU CAN CALL CUMMINS AT THE 800#, OR TAKE THE RV UNIT # ON THE DRIVER SIDE INSIDE THE RV, OR IN THE BATH ROOM ON ONE OF THE DOORS. CALL CCI. AT THERE 800# GIVE THEM THE #, AND THEY WE LOOK IT UP FOR YOU. BOTH OF THIS WELL GET YOU THE INFOR. YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. GOOD LUCK, I HOPE THIS IS OF SOME HELP TO YOU....CAPT. One is bigger than the other?

Seriously, Cuntry Coach never put the 5,9L Cummins in their Intrigues.

How much oil is required for the oil change? My father-in-law has a Bounder with a 5.9 and our '96 Intrigue has a 8.3. We changed the oil in each when we were in Missouri this fall. The 5.9 holds 18 quarts vs 28 for the 8.3.
