Title: Toilet won't stop running

I have a 2006 Intrigue Ovation II (CC #12005) and took it to our local Camping World do a minor repair job for me (maybe not a good idea).
They called me to tell me that the Techma electric toilet wouldn't stop running. I told them not to do anything until next week. I wanted to find out what was wrong before they spent any time on it. I plan to go the coach tomorrow because I might be able to fix it myself. What should I look for when I get there?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

we just had the same problem. It was the control box where the 2 cords plugged into the control box. As a temporary fix, Lonny put on a switch so we could turn it off every time after we flushed. PITA! Also the switch (button) on the side of the toilet was bad also. We decided to replace the toilet with one that is not electric. We like it much better. I believe we found a kit to repair it but we felt it wasn't worth it. If it's a Thetford you can call them. The electric one was an Aria Deluxe II and the new one we bought was Aria Classic High Profile Bone. Fit exactly in the same place as the electric one.

Lonnie and Dianne:

You said you replaced the Techma with a non-electric toilet. It was my understanding that the only reason the expensive electric macerator toilet was installed is because it is not mounted directly over the black water tank. The macerator is needed to 'pump' the waste to the tank.

So how did you address this issue with a non-electric model?

Gary,

I think it depends upon specific coach models. Our 04 Allure 40' High Cascade model is mounted with a 'direct drop' to the black tank. Our electric throne is not a macerator type. We did just have the seals replaced and our unit continues to work well. It is a bit noisey.

If it goes wild, we'll also swap out it out with a non electric unit.

And, I've taken a good note on the temporary switch splice, but sure hope we never need to do so:)!

Best to all, have fun, be safe,
Smitty

on our '04 Allure our toilet is over the black tank and we don't have a macerator.

OK, now I got it. It is electric but not a macerator. I guess if mine stops working, we will be s**t out of luck. :-).
