Considering changing some of my florescent bulbs to LED. The fixtures have 2 bulbs. Do I need to use 2 LEDs or will one suffice? Did you notice any differences, good or bad, with the LEDs? Most of the T8's are running close to $50 each. Any better deals out there? Thought I'd hit the forum before I do much investigation, will give me a place to start. Tnx

My recommendation is one strip (either the bulb style like from star lights or strip LED that comes in a roll) per fixture for most. I've found that replacing with just one centered in the fixture is plenty of light for most applications, except say over the kitchen area or the bath vanity where more light is a good thing. The nice part about LED's is the instant on, no warm up time.

Judy & Joe,

I changed the 2 fixtures in the vanity area with led bulbs last year. I got the bulbs from Bob Vinson @ RCV Custom Coach Service in Junction City OR. They were $25.50 each so 4 bulbs were just over $100.00. They really made my wife happy as they are so much better than the original.

Currently in the process of changing out all of our bulbs to LED. We found a good price on the T8 bulbs on M4products.com....I think they were $25 a bulb. I was able to pick up some of the other bulbs on ebay and amazon for a decent price as well. Couldn't find any deals on the T8's on either of those sites!

Two years ago I changed out all 15 light fixtures in out coach. Used 5050 300 LED SMD flexible light non-waterproof. Some units only had 2 strips and others had 3 or four. Ordered 3 rolls and have 3/4 of a roll left. Also used 10x LED to LED connectors 2p 15 cm wire for 10mm width color 5050 as I do not like to solder such small wire. At that time they were about $25 .00 a roll.
