They say a picture is worth 1000 words, I only have 1, yuck.. Looks like the side wall is fiberglass and the put a metal picture frame for the slide to go in and out. They used some kind of sealer around outside of the frame then painted.. Sealer is coming apart. What to seal with?

Any advice or experience would help

Hi Bob

I have a 2002 allure and the trim pieces (top and bottom) that attached to the coach frame around the slide were coming apart. Try looking inside the coach with the slide in the IN position were the trim attaches to the coach. Mine had rust from the frame attachment of the coach. The only fix was to remove the slide, repair rusted frame on the coach and put back together. Looked like water had been getting by the trim to the coach frame for a long time.

What part of the country are you most of the time? Does it appear that could be any part of why the rust is happening? This is so not good to hear. Thank you.

Hi

I live in Florida . I think the water was getting in between the trim and the coach frame because the sealant for the trim pieces had deteriorated . Also, another problem was the slide rubber seals were not good and also allowed water inside. I had the problem fixed at Lazy Days in Tampa.

I live in Nc. It's not as bad as it looks. I just need to seal it I beleave.. Lazy days is nice but I hear very expensive to do work .. I stayed there last year, I asked about getting some work done on my rv. They took my number and said they would call me within 24 hours. That was last year, Still waiting for them to call

You might try Tom Johnson's in either Concord or Marion, NC.

Hi Bob

Remove the galley slide, remove upper and lower trim pieces, repair frame rust and paint, install trim, new rubber slide seals, caulk trim around slide, install slide. Cost was about $4500.
