I was at a FMCA rally last week, and Redlands Truck was selling a straight thur muffler and a K&N air filter for improved fuel mileage. Has anyone tried this on a ISX 600HP Cummins? Thank you

Steve,

Last year I purchased a DYNAFLEX Muffler to replace the original Donaldson. The muffler body length I needed was 20", which Dynaflex had but it had one baffle at the mid-point of the muffler so I drilled the baffle nearly completely out. Surprising it didn't increase the decibel level, just a little more throaty sound.

This changed increased my average MPG by 0.5 to 1.0 MPG plus an increase in Boost Pressure. I have been using an AFE performance Oiled Air Filter just after I purchased the coach new..

2003 Allure 1st Ave. #30898 ISL 370 chipped to 400 hp. 135,000 miles.

If you can't find a straight through Muffler in the length you need, look for a straight through Resonator it will accomplish the same thing.

Thx. Mike

Mike

Thank you for the only reply and the tip on Dynaflex. Dynaflex is near me, so I will call them for more information.

Thanks again
