Please read my story......

Recently we've been experiencing very sluggish response in first and reverse gears when first setting off. After a short time when the transmission shifts up, all is then OK. I thought I should at least check the oil levels, firstly by using the drivers selector keys and then by looking at the good old dipstick. The key pad revealed 'ol - 7' which I researched to mean low oil level - add seven quarts; but the dipstick showed oil way over the top marks either hot or cold. In each of my frustrating checks either hot or cold, and on level ground, and after following the book and allowing for a short warm-up and selecting forward and reverse to remove any entrapped air the results are still the same. The key pad does also indicate a fault code D11412, but because of the above weird anomalies I frankly don't believe what the keypad is telling me.
I have also noticed when reading the Allison book, that the normal fill-tube location on the side of the stand-alone transmission is replaced in the Inspire motorhome by the extraordinarily long dipstick and guide tube - maybe this is giving rise to reading or display errors. Any help, references or sympathy would be most welcome.

Your trans code indicates your keypad level check may not be working. You did not indicate the year of the coach, that may be helpful.
The code indicates the following Not equipped, not functioning, broken wire.
Below is a link to the chart, go look at it a let me know what you think.

The display may be telling you that the "Sump fluid temperature is too low" ( o,L,--,7,0 is the code for this condition).

NOTE: The fluid level check may be delayed until the following conditions are met: Ernie
