I own a 2006 county coach inspire with a Cat C9 engine after driving for a hour or so at 55 to 60 mph I noticed a engine warning light flashing on my dash. The engine slowed automatically and the light stopped. The owners manuel indicates that that light shows that it may be a problem with the coolant. The water temperature read 180 and the coach never ran hot I was able to drive home with no further problems as long as I kept it a under 45 mph. The coolant tank was three quarters full

If your coolant gets low enough in the surge tank then it will set off the coolant sensor, mine does that when my coolant level gets low.

I would check the antifreeze level, even if not overheating, check engine maybe because low fluid level. It is that way on my Cat C10...

If your coolant level in radiator surge tank is full. If you have a Siverleaf monitor system Hit the info button 2 times and history of faualts will disply. Mine showed 2 faults. Low engine coolant and engine coolant unknown. I had to have CC mother ship over night a coolant level sensor to Ely NV. Sensor was not avalible in Ely. Replaced sensor and all was well. Was able to travel next day. The sensor is located on the back side of the surge tank.
Hope this helps

The factory back when made a new higher mark on my surge tank when there was a question about false temp readings.
