My exhaust pipe is badly rusted, with holes. I'm quite sure it is 5" pipe, but the OD measures 4¾"?. It looks like a DIY project, but before I start buying parts, I sure would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions. I have a 2006 CC Inspire with a Cat C-9 diesel.

Ken, I have two ideas for your needed parts, here's the website for Junction City Muffler that worked with CC and is familiar with the coaches. Junction City Muffler (http://www.jcmuffler.com/)

right
Secondly if any of the exhaust piping requires special bends I recommend the Chrome Depot in Ohio ph: 800-496-6303, ask for Bill, these folks did my exhaust pipe fabrication that included reducers and a 90 degree bend, Bill tells you exactly how to make the measurements and when I rec'd it fit perfect. He's knows his stuff. Was very competitive and fair in pricing.

My C 12 cat had a 5 inch pipe. I did mine by myself. Using the old pipe I made a fixture from wood. Cut the pieces then welded it up. Country coach would have supplied one for around 600 dollars with a 6 to 8 week lead time. If I remember right I spent about 300 using chrome pipe. It took me about a day to do it.

There are not a lot of sources for mandrel bent 5" tubing. JC Muffler bought up a lot of the muffler pipe stock in the CC bankruptcy.

Check with PPL -- When ever I needed a part or whatever they have been most competitive and great product.

I replaced my exhaust system with 409 stainless steel. I machined the turbo flange from billet stainless. I purchased mandrel bent elbows online from Smeding Diesel and cut and welded them to match the originals. I wanted a stainless muffler to match but was unable to find one. My muffler internals were in good shape, so I replaced the inlet and outlet with stainless. Then I encased the muffler in sheet stainless. The cost was around $500 for the materials.

Pretty much any truck shop or parts house will have it.
