Title: Cracking outside the windows

Just had a salesman tell me that CC changed the chassie framework in 1999 because of the cracking fiberglas radiating out from the corners of the windows (outside). He had shown me a 1996 model and I noted the problem to him. He said it was a common problem. I was just shown a 1999 model and there was none of this cracking. He then tells me that's because CC was aware of this problem and changed the way the chassie was built. Has anyone ever heard of this ??? Any owners of 1996-1998 CC see any cracks coming out from the corners of their windows ??

Any info is appreciated.

I just washed our '98 36-ft Intrigue two days ago, so I got up close and personal. I

didn't see the slightest crack, either coming from the corners of the windows or above the cargo bay doors, as previously mentioned.
I gotta go and relax now, 'cause I'm still tired from washing the thing .

Hi our 1998 Intrigue has roof cracks but no window corner cracks, I would think that the mileage not just the age would be a contributing factor in chassis flex reculting in fiberglass cracks. We have 70,000 on ours.

Michael,

I don't know how accurate the salesman's reason for the cracks is but I can tell you that I have a '98 Magna that has developed radius cracks around the bedroom windows on both sides of the coach.

Frank,

The coach I saw had the cracks only on one side (the drivers side).
The cracks radiated out from the bottom corners of all the windows.
The cracks were about 8" to 10" long and got wider as they got farther away from the window corners. There were about 5 cracks coming out from each corner of each window.

I was thinking this might have had more to do with being parked in one place for a long period of time. It might have been exposed to the sun on that side? I was discounting the salesman's explanation thinking if it was a "frame" issue it should have occurred on both sides.
It was a non-slide coach so that was not an issue. Based on the limited response from this group I think it was more of a specific problem with that coach as opposed to a CC issue.

Our '96 Intrigue (42000 miles)has no cracks around the windows.
However the around the water heater vent area has crack at one corner and above it are some "spider web" cracks where the heat has been.
