Our bedroom tv quit working.  Looking to replace it with flat screen.  Finding some where I only need to modify cabinet slightly.  Question can you get enough sound out in a tight cabinet without adding a sound bar as these flat screens don't have much for speakers.

Dave,

I replaced my old crt tv with a flat panel LED. The speakers are in the bottom so I had to add a cloth at the bottom for sound to project out. The sound comes out just fine.

I bought a 40 inch Samsung flat screen, LED, and had that installed and very happy with the results. To me the 40 inch is the way to go. I did lose one of the two very small cabinets to the right of the old 20 inch head bumper TV.
