We are traveling to Florida this winter and making a stop in New Orleans for a week or so and was wondering if anyone could give me a recommendation on where to stay. Any help would be very uch appreciated.

What type spot are you looking for?
Expensive in downtown N.O. is the French Quarter RV Outside N.O. on the Westbank is the State Park is Bayou Segnette A fairly nice place but in an Industrial area is Ponchatrain Landing.

I recommend Ponchatrain Landing. Convenient to the interstate and minutes to downtown. They also run shuttle service to and from the French Quarter.

We have stayed at both Ponchartrain Landing and Bayou Segnette and we prefer Bayou Segnette. Water and electric. 20 minute drive to Algiers Ferry to the French Quarter. If you choose Bayou Segnette, access it via I-310 and leave the same way. It's longer but beats going down through tight streets.

Don't forget about the Saints, if they are in town during the week that you choose every changes.
It may already be to late to stay in some of the resorts mentioned. Also, guess what else changes $$$.
