For a starter battery, I'd go with a MF battery vs AGM. And when I looked, now 5 years ago, the CAT 8D had the highest CCA of 1500 of any good quality battery I could find. Plus, I like the idea of a CAT starting my Cummins:)! But, they for sure were not the lowest price 8D available. Just be sure, when comparing starter 8D batteries, that you compare normal wet cells, with other wet cells. And Maintenance Free (MF) with other MF batteries. And if ponying up for AGM stater 8D, you compare only to AGM's. And, look at the reputation, and also importantly the spec's - as CCA's values will not be equal between all batteries:)!

Best of luck to you,
