Last message of thanks was not published, so wish to thank all those who gave suggestions to our sickenly sweet odor problem. We are going to have antifreeze hose changed & hope that will solve the problem.
Now we want to ask if anyone has problems with interior lights. Coach is 21 months old & we have already replaced 4 light fixtures and then last night out went ballast number 5. Voltage measures 12.5. Lights flicker once or twice each night for 3 or 4 nights, then the ballast burns out. Any ideas? Thanks, Dr. Stan 2002 Intrique 11471

Hi Dr Stan,

The first possibility is intermittant connections. I had a problem with the copper tie strap in the dc fuse boxes - the set screws were not tightened during manufacturer. If there are loose connections, high resistense occurs which drops voltage and increases amperage leading to premature ballast failures. Start with the domestic fuse box(wiring diagram S0481) - usually in the bay where the 2 disconnects are located, check for set screw tightness on the copper strap and each wire connection, verify the 4g red cable back to the domestic disconnect is secure on both ends, remove the fuses on the right side and check for arcing and reinsert, check the RF plug for good connection for each pin, remove a flor. light fixture and check the voltage at the fixture while it is on, voltage drop should be less than 0.2 vdc from what is measured at the fuse box. If the voltage is OK at each location where a flor. light assembly has failed, then a bad batch of flor. lighting becomes suspect. Follow up with CCI on this. Look at the domestic fuse box carefully to see what it feeds - are any other problems occuring associated with this fuse box? Fred Kovol

I have had to feplace 4 under cabinet fixtures so far. The ballast have burnt out.
My coach is number 11451.

There is a wat to change the ballast but its easier to replace the while fixture.
I do leave the 2 lights on above the kitchen and bathroom sinks on most of the time and these are the ones that have burnted out.
Also what kind of a smell do you have.

I wonder if we have the same type hoses.
Because I have have had a sweet smell in the rear of the coach.
I think its a diverter valve that sticks opened.

I have the Intellitec Multiplex Switching System in my coach that controls all the lights via 8 pannels.

The other night all the lights came on and those that are dimmable started cycling through their dimming cycles also all the "Amber and Green" lighting in the panels were on and I had no control over any of the lights or water pump. Interesting expirence at 2AM.
I got all the lights lighs off by using the "House Battery-disconnect switch. The next day I found that if I disconnected "J2 Power connector" of the EMS Control Module for 30 seconds the problem was sort of fixed for a short time then came back. By repeating the above and removeing all power from the coach for 5 hours it seems to have fixed everything. No occurances in the past 7 days.

I have calls and emails to CC and Intellitec, but no response from either. Didn't expect any response from CC.
I have an Allure 470 Coach #31461, 42?? Siskiyou Summit, quad slide.

Thanks,
Terry

TERRY:

HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM 9 MONTHS AGO AFTER PLUGGING INTO SHORE POWER. IN ADDITION TO THE LIGHTS THE PROBLEM ALSO INVOLVED THE FANTASTIC FANS AND FRIDGE. SO WE SAT THERE RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM AND WITHIN AN HOUR OR SO, THE LIGHTS SHUT OFF, VENTS CLOSED AND THE FRIDGE CAME BACK ON. I CONTACTED CC TECH SERVICE, WHO COULD NOT EXPLAIN THE PHENOMENA OR A FIX, OTHER THAN TO SAY THAT THE SYSTEM MUST HAVE RECEIVED A STRAY SIGNAL OR VOLTAGE. THANKFULLY THE PROBLEM HAS NOT REOCCURRED. IF IT DOES, I THINK THE SOLUTION IS TO CUT ALL POWER AND LET THE ITELLITEC SYSTEM RESET ITSELF.

We had some Ghosts, Gremlins & Transients in ours. CC found some loose grounds.

Also check to see if all the fuses are properly inserted and seated.
We found several that were incorrectly installed.

Turning off the House Battery switch for a few minutes will reset the system.

Terry -

Check the filter cap on the back of the alternator. Ours had a broked bracket and was dangling from the leads.

Good luck.

I have an Allure 470 Coach #31461, 42ft Siskiyou Summit, quad slide.

This problem has been ongoing for over a year

I have the Intellitec Multiplex Switching System in my coach that controls all the lights via 8 pannels.
The other night(Oct 2008) all the lights came on and those that are dimmable started cycling through their dimming cycles also all the "Amber and Green" lighting in the panels were on and I had no control over any of the lights or water pump. Interesting expirence at 2AM. I got all the lights lighs off by using the "House Battery-disconnect switch. By repeating the above and removeing all power from the coach for 5 hours it seems to have fixed everything. No occurances until Nov 2009 then same thing only it was parked.

I have calls and emails to CC and Intellitec, but no response from either. Didn't expect any response from CC.
Thought that I had found it. It was the 6 Button Keypad #1, as Country Coach, calls it in their 12 Volt Hook Up drawing. Don't know what is wrong with it all I know is when it is disconnected everything works.

Now all I needed was to find out where to get a replacement.

Finially got Keypad and replaced same problem.

Any help out there???

Thanks,
Terry

We had "ghosts" in our Intellitec system, lights would com on etc., and the CC techs fixed it by adding an additional ground.
Also I found some of the fuses in the Intellitec panel were not installed correctly.

I have one light that comes on only when on shore power. I have been afraid to touch it, and have not attempted to have it fixed. Can it be just a single switch on the Intellitec Sys.? Where are these fuses?
Jim Spivey Allure 2006 31432 and all but one light is working. (I am not sure I really want to know how to fix it)

Terry I have a 470 Allure 2006 31432. I am just behind you. I posted that I have only one light that comes on, and only when I am on shore power. Please keep me posted on what you find out. I am chicken to really check mine out, and have not had a tech. look at for fear of making it worse. Now that I see your post, I am growing concerned again that this one light may be the preview of something bigger. Thanks and good luck in getting it fixed. If it is a ground let me know where to add same. Thanks
