Hi Folks,

Recent posts covered the use of vinegar for cleaning calcium deposits from tanks and lines.
However, the filter(s) internal to the plumbing lose the effectively if not removed before the use of either vinegar or bleach.
As a side note, I have put 4 gallons of vinegar in my home hot water heater (first drained) over night once a year and going on 15 years -- it had a 3 year warranty.
