Hi Folks,

After 15 years, the clear coat is starting to peel on the sides.
Any thoughts would be appreciated on mitigating the problem.

Fred, there is no easy solution. You can sand and feather the edges of the peeling CC and recoat but it will only last for a couple of years. Is your coach painted or is it of the gel coat(cream color) with clear over it? If the latter, the only real way is to sand all the CC off, paint the coach, and then reapply the clear. I had this procedure done in Mexico a few years ago on the roof and it still looks great. It would have cost me $2500 to $3000 to have it done here in the states but it was $700 in Mexico. Clear just doesn't want to stick to gel coat for very long.
