Yes, several. First visit Slaughterhouse Beach on the north end above Kapalua. Second, take the CC on a barge. They don't float worth a darn! Doug Allure 30929

Haleakula crater at sunrise. Some unusual plants there and it is beautiful. Whale watching, drive to Hana-gives new meaning to twisty roads. Enjoy the slow island pace. Don't frustrate yourself. We used to live there and just enjoy the beautiful sunsets and the lovely flowers. Judith 96 Magna

Judy,
We are on the Big Island staying in the Kona area. Is there anything in particular that you know about this island and anything would "should miss"? Thanks, Candace

Candace,
Haven't been to the Big Island. Have you found any medium level surfing beaches? In what area would you suggest we look for a home on the beach? drosenberg@... (drosenberg@...) will keep the post off the group. Thanks.

Make sure you go to Kileaua and go into the crater if you can. Have you hiked the top of Kilauea and gone into the lava tubes? It is very interesting to see the regret. See all the things that are marked with the King Kim signs (red caped man). Hike to the waterfalls if you can. Drive to Hilo and the wet side of the island if you can. Lots of very interesting things there. The Kuna side is doesn't have a lot of stuff.

Candace,
The drive to Havi and Parker Ranch past Waikalea are a great diversion to the shopping in Kona. Roy's in Waikalea is a great restaurant too.
