Has anyone had any luck in finding replacement bay door actuators for our coaches from the early 2000's? I am not sure how long CC used this type. The manufacturer is out of business. CC has not found a replacement supplier. Am I the only one who has had them fail? I asked Eric at Premier Motorcoach in Tucson to see what he could find a year ago. No luck yet.

Rich,

I use the CC supplier SPD Hardware SPD Hardware - Gas Springs, Hinges, Catches, Latches, Handles, Drawer Slides, Rope Rings, Door Holders, Weather-stripping (http://www.spdhardware.com/)

right

Many of the CC Gas Struts were custom made for CC, so SPD Hardware may not have the model printed on the Struts you need but they'll order from the manufacture. I had to wait 6 to 7 weeks for my last order.

I contacted Joe at NW RV Supply in Eugene and he gave me a choice of 3 different types.  I chose the largest one.  I had to make a plat form for it to mount on the door.  After that I had to adapt the connecting rod that went between the old actuator and the new one.  But once that was done everything worked great and has continued to do so for over a year.  TWI  2004 intrigue 11731

I will call joe but that sounds like a lot of work. It would be nice if country coach stepped up and had someone make these because hundreds of people are going to need these I think.

Just for the record in the original post I was referring to bay door actuators not gas struts. Actuators are the electrical device that locks and unlocks the doors when you hit your key fob. When yours go you will find that you cannot get replacements. by the way your front door uses the same actuator.
