Our Samsung RF197ACRS fridge has started colecting the defrost water in the lower left, meat, drawer.
Any ideas on why or how to get it fixed?

There is a fix for this. It may even be covered by Samsung. I think it involves adding a heater to the drain tube. You might want to call Samsung.

Thanks Mikee, I've sent them an inquiry and in the meantime turned the fridge temp setting to it's highest to see if that will unblock the drain.

Contacting Samsung will get you an appointment with a service center, they don't admit they have a problem or tell you how to fix it. In talking to various service centers, there doesn't seem to be a common solution to the problem emanating from Samsung.
Having said that, I just had my fridge repaired by a authorized Samsung repair center. here's what he did.
Checked door seals for air leakage.
Replaced the 2 drain lines at back of fridge. They are a new design, still have the duck bill, but they added (2) 1/4" holes, so if the duck bill clogs up there is an outlet for the water. Also they have changed the interface to the fridge, tighter seal.
Checked ohms of heater, It was in spec.
Checked ohms of thermistor. It was out of spec and replaced.
Thawed ice in internal drain.
Attached a piece of wire to the heater into the internal drain. It was long enough to reach the 1st bend in the internal drain.
Inspected plastic panel, which had been removed to access internal drain, heater and thermistor. The Styrofoam had been damaged due to the ice buildup and water, it did not seal properly and was replaced.
Turned power saver off, we're currently in a high humidity area.
That's it and mine has been working properly for the last week.

I guess that means the fridge must be removed to work on the back side. If so we'll need to get back to OMC in Eugene to get that kind of work done.
May cost less to just replace the thing!

If you had the install done by OMC in the last couple of years, Glen made it easy, and you don't have to remove the fridge.
If you are in the OR area, I had mine repaired by Appliance & Refrigeration Hospital while at OMC.
I can't advise you on your repair/buy decision.

The refer doesn't have to be replaced. All that is required is to remove a small clip and install a longer one. It is installed with a pop rivet.
Should take less than 30 minutes to do the job and the refer doesn't have to be removed.

Thank you Don, I presume this work is done on the inside of the box and can be done from the front. If so I hope Samsung gets back to us with some one in this area, Troutdale Oregon, that we can get out to the RV park and do the work.

This is apparently this is a "known" issue. I've made contact with a service tech parts have been ordered and they'll call for the install. It sounds like all of the work except for one small item can be done from the front.
I'll post more when the work is done.

Can you expand on exactly how this repair was done? Where is the "clip" and how was it accessed, is the replacement part from Samsung or something readily available elsewhere, can the doors stay on, etc?

Update: $400 later we've replaced several parts and the fridge is cooling down. Thankfully the crew at OMC modified the rear access panel and we were able to change out the lower drain hose.
I was told this should be a regular maintenance item and just to be prepared I've ordered 2 spares.

The entire back center panel in the frig section and a small metal clip were replaced. In the lower back section the frig drain hose was replaced and the drain hose for the freezer was cleaned out.
I plan on washing out the lower drain hoses every year or so. The replacements were ordered for me by the service tech and are being mailed to us.
Cold & dry is good.

No, all the "Inside" the frig work is done with out moving the unit. All the shelves & drawers are removed to expose the back panel that is removed and replaced with a new one.
The lower drain hoses are accessed via the lower air vent on the outside wall of the coach. The issue here is, did the installer modify the Samsung cover so it can be opened & removed from outside.
