Our refer quite today. We have had the second norcold update and the red light is out. How do you by-pass this unit and get the fridge to power back up?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Same issue with our Norcold refrigerator and on the same day! Red light has locked us out.  Calling Norcold today.

Ken,

If you are talking about the thermal sensor relay that was installed as a part of the Norcold recall program, it can be reset by passing a strong magnet directly around the red light. You will hear the contact click and reset. Make sure to monitor the refrigerator (after restarting) very close just to make sure there is not a problem with the burner, electrical heaters or cooling unit. Make sure you don't see any yellow residue on the cooling coils as that would indicate a bad cooling unit, if you do don't restart the refrigerator. I would suggest you use an infrared thermometer to scan the burner section on a frequent schedule or until you a satisfied there is no problem with the burner section or the cooling unit. If the thermal sensor trips a second time do not reset. You will more than likely need to replace the cooling coils or the refrigerator.
