We replaced our fan controller about 4 years ago. Its now acting up again.  I'm trying to find one to carry with us when it stops working altogether. Part # SAU1090385

Any suggestions on who carries them?

John, can't tell from your Unit # the year of your coach, but a question, have you check to see if your fan controller is also utilizing an Air Temperature Sensor and Coolant Temperature Sensor, if so the is an easy way to determine if one of those is not functioning properly.

If you for sure want to purchase another Sauer DanFoss Fan Controller you can call Kevin Waite at 541-998-8132 and/or Berendsen Fluid Power Products - Joe Newbie Tech Support 800-360-2327 he can give you the Part # for the Electronic Portion of the Fan Control Unit which is less expense than purchasing the entire assembly which generally is not needed.

Thanks for the info Jim. My coach is a 2005 42 Allure with Cat C9. The symptom is the temp goes to 206 and the fan comes on and it cools to below 201 most of the time, When it isn't working it goes to 206 holds than starts to climb and the fan doesnt come on. I stop restart the engine and the fan comes on and the engine cools to 197. It did the same thing 4 years ago and they replaced the fan controller and the problem was fixed.

John

Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the controller? When mine started acting up I used some electrical contact cleaner and  dielectric grease and that has solved the problem going on two years.

Kevin,

I think it's time for me to replace my Danfoss fan controller as well. I have been fighting it for the last two years now and I'm getting tired of watching the temp gauge and switching to my manual override switch, which has become more and more frequent of late.

The hydraulic portion of the fan controller operates fine, I'm just in need to the electronic part which I understand is considerably less expensive than the entire unit. I have the 2005 Inspire #51264. My Danfoss controller is the three wire setup that gets its input from the ECM. The part #1090385 the S/W Parameters: P0184204026A.
Can you get this for me?

Thank you,

Ron Jacobs

John,

You may want to check your controller mounting bolts.
I have been struggling with my very inconsistent fan controller for at least the last two years, I has been getting progressively worse.
The other day I decided to hard wire the controller to eliminate the plug. After completing this I took it for a test drive and much to my dismay it did not fix the problem. After that I thought I would remove the electrical portion and inspect the wires closely. When I put a wrench on the first mounting screw I noticed it was quite loose, then I checked the other three and all but one was loose.
This got me to thinking that I may have a grounding issue. I tightened all the mounting bolts and added an external ground just to make sure everything was well grounded.
When I started my coach my fan almost immediately went to high for maybe 10 seconds and then cut back to low. I thought this was encouraging as I remember it doing that some time in the past.
In conclusion; I took my coach out for about a 25 mile test run and the fan worked perfectly. It's about 100 today in Dallas and my ScanGauge D never went above 193. When it did, the fan increased speed and almost immediately brought the temp down to about 186.
I plan to take it out for a longer test drive soon to verify that my problem is solved.

If you unit is mounted with the wires up, remove it and reinstall it with  the wires  facing down. I have seen several mounted with the wires facing  up and water will work its way into the unit.
