We just had OMC install a new Samsung frig, the question I have is do any of you leave the frig on all the time? Even while in storage or not in use? OMC said we should leave it on all the time as it is a residential frig.
Your comments will be appreciated.

Ken,
I have the Samsung RF-18 refrigerator in my coach, I leave it on all the time even when in storage.

Ken. I was told by the service manager at a dealer to definitely leave it on Mine has been on since Nov 2005 and works great. Bob 06intrigue 12047

We don't have a residential fridge in our coach but when we leave home for 6 months to travel we turn off the fridge in our house. We've been doing this for 7 years and it still works fine. Appliance store where we bought the fridge said why run it if you aren't cooling anything.

Ken,
I always turn the fridge off if we will not be using for a few weeks or more. Can't see running an empty fridge.

We leave ours on because the wife does keep a few things in it. Our coach is on a separate meter and it costs 6 bux a month to run it

Ken,
Are you on Shore Power while in storage or is the Samsung RF-18 on an Inverter Circuit ? If it is on the Inverter is it the Main Inverter and you place the GenSet on Auto Start or did you have an additional inverter, one with its own battery installed. I guess another possibility is the main Battery Bank holds and the refer continues to hold its temp ?
I am thinking about a new unit and just curious how things go.
Thanks,
Chris

Chris,
We just have it plugged into shore power. It only draws 3 amps when running. Most everyone I have spoke with unplugs as it only takes an hour to get up to temp... Some of the guys on the forum leave theirs plugged in but I think we are going to leave ours unplugged until we get ready to leave.
