Is anyone towing a 2015 Colorado? What did you do about the disconnecting of the negative cable ? Thanks Jim leFaivre allure 31339

I just towed mine . Putting in and out of Neutral is tricky. Don't follow the section
in the book in Flat Towing for putting it in Neutral . Go to the four wheel drive
section and follow it to the letter. In and out. I only towed it around 10 miles and
I did not loose my radio settings.
Formally towed a CRV.

I'm also considering a 2015 Colorado / Canyon for towing but noticed the battery cable disconnect requirement. I use an even-brake braking system which needs power in the toad so I would have to do something if the battery needs disconnecting. I'm interested if anyone has additional information on their experience.

I use Brake Buddy. I will be working on that problem either today or tomorrow. Leaving on a 1000 mile trip Monday am.

My 2014 GMC also needs the battery disconnected. I took a short cable from the negative on the battery and connected it to a battery disconnect switch. Ten to fifteen dollar switch with a little removal red handle. At this point if you need something powered you can connect it at that terminal. I connected the factory negative cable to the other terminal on the disconnect switch. Now after everything is hooked up with the RV and I've put the transmission in neutral, I pop my hood turn the disconnect switch and take the handle and put it in the truck.
When I turn the switch back on it takes about 5 minutes for all the radio settings to be restored.

Just finished towing mine 1000 miles . In and out of neutral 2 times. 5 hours late leaving because could not get it in neutral. Local Chevy dealer did not know either. (Not sure how I got it in Neutral) Book says two different things. First stop did not unhook it. (scared to). Unhooked it in Amarillo Tx. Into 2 w ok.
Went directly to AutoNation Chevrolet not expecting much. Rep printed a ream of paper and went and got a mechanic. First thing the mechanic said was tear up your instructions out of the book.
Steps I use now. One element is very important.
1. Apply parking brake MAKE SURE YOU ARE IN 2 WD.
2 Turn key to run position ( either start or not) Done it both ways.
***most important: MAKE SURE TAC AND GAUGES HAVE GONE THROUGH THEIR CHECK PROCEDURE.
3. Put foot on brake and place transmission in neutral.
4. Take foot off brake
5. Immediately turn the 4x4 knob all the way to right (it stops) Red "N" should light within 10 seconds
turn knob to 4 wheel low.
6 Make sure "N" is still lighted and try reverse and Drive if no movement place in park leave key in run position and disconnect Negative post. Did not loose my prior settings.
I ran a a wire from truck battery to Brake Buddy. Worked great
Will let you know if anything changes.
