The Gold heat is not working on the front section of our coach. The control goes to GFI fault. The back section works fine. Can anybody help? Thank you.

The GFIs pop every so often on me. Been doing it for years. Can't say why. Don't pop when in heat mode but between uses. Wonder what else could be on the circuit?

I have had the same experience with our Gold Heat thermostat. We also had a weird experience with our new Splendide. It would occasionally wake up in the middle of the night and click relays. I contacted Splendide and he told me that the machine circuit board is susceptible the third-harmonic of 60Hz AC being too high. I did a little research and found out about THD - Total Harmonic Distortion. It turns out that non-linear loads on an AC circuit, i.e. campground power, can cause excessive THD. Non-linear loads are things like modified sine wave inverter/chargers, fluorescent light ballasts, etc. It turns out that THD can also cause phantom ground currents that can fool a GFCI making it think there is a short. Poorly designed GFCI's are very susceptible to THD. So I am guessing that the reason I have more trouble in some campgrounds than in others may be caused by excessive THD in some campgrounds.
I looked at how to measure THD and found that it takes a lot of expensive equipment unless you want to sit in front of an oscilloscope waiting for the moment to happen. I also looked at THD filters and decided it was way cheaper to reset the GFCI.
Sorry for the long winded scientific theory,
Bob
