Turned on the water and this horrible smell came out of all the faucets. We have drained the tank and would like to put bleach in there, but can not find where, how much and for how long We have an 05 Country Coach Inspire DaVinci The last time we used water was in August and we hooked up to the city water in Williams AZ, There was about 1/4 a tank left when we got home
Any suggestion on how to clean and get rid of the smell would be AWESOME!!!!!

Sounds like the water sat (in the heat!) for 2-3 months. Anything over 2 weeks, IMHO, is too long to be sanitary. You should have a water access point in your wet bay. Mine is behind a black plastic door with a threaded cap. Looks like a gas fill cover/door. You should have a switch or valve in the bay as well to open and drain any more water. Check your owners manual on all this if you're unsure.

Once drained and drain valve is closed you can use a white filler hose to add about a 1/4 tank of fresh cold water to the fresh water tank. add about 1/2 cup of laundry bleach through a funnel. You shouldn't have to worry about mixing if you let it sit a few days. A week would be good. Then turn on your pump and run water out of every faucet. The first few seconds will be the bad water/smell, etc. Keep running each until you get a faint smell of bleach. I like to run the water into a glass and bring it up to my nose to check the odor.

Leave the bleach in until your next trip. Then drain as much as you can out on the ground. The bleach solution is so dilute there should be no harm to the ground. Add another 1/4 tank of fresh water as a rinse and repeat the draining. Fill with fresh water and your good to go.

Lori.

I have attached word doc. that I have used when I sanitized my 2005 Inspire tank. It is easy to install the bleach by using the input valve in the service bay. If I can help feel free to call. 925-858-2217
