Just got done working on the shocks on this coach. The front ones were fine after hundred thousand miles tightened up the firmness no problem. The rear drive axle Koni shocks were both completely broken. Discovered for unknown reasons Country coach put the wrong shocks on this particular coach there 20 millimetres too short which I am assuming is the reason the shocks are broken. Have ordered the correct 1951 rear shocks but I have a question: I have heard of the broken rear shock problem on CCS other than the magna and the affinity. Does this occur in anyone's experience with Magna's tag axles,? Rich 2002 Magna

Call Dave Remington he worked in the Chassis department for years and years. He rescued me 3 or 4 times when I had broken chassis components with my Allure and Intrigue. He is currently working for Oregon motor Coach in Eugene. Dave Kiscowen also worked in the Chassis department, when Doug Rutherford was director. He now works for W CC. BOB Vinson, who has his own shop, is well versed with CC, too in Junction City. I'm sure there others including Eric in Tucson. There are former CC techs in Florida, too. TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731

Could not find new Koni shocks on there web sight. Been looking starting on the first of the year. Called today the rv tech guy was on vacation. Talked to the head of sales. He did not know of any new shock for motorhomes. He said he would check and call back. In about 45 min. he call me back. He was mad all getout. They had told no one in sales. They were not on the web sight. The are in stock ready to go. They are shipping me a set. These large co. cant shoot straight. The R&D guy was so fired on the new shock said best shock for motorhomes with tag ever built .

Tom, what new super duper model of "new Koni shocks" are you referring to? For which axle? What year and model CC do you have? Rich 2002 Magna

Hey All; I worked with Jim Ryan the west Coast Manager for Koni on these new shocks. They were only referenced to me as EVO shocks and the latest in design for Country Coach. I called Jim to see what part numbers have been assigned and he said he would get back to me with a number. these shacks are very heavy Duty compared to the predecessor adjustables, and work great at total control of the heavy front ends on Country Coaches. I am not sure what variants there are on different applications, as the Magna was different suspension than the Allure. I suggest you check with Koni North America and reference the new EVO shocks. You might try talking to Justin McCoy who is the International Sales Manager @ 859-488-0314 for your application. If I get a part #, I will post it to all

Thanks Brian. I will give them a call. From what I can see, these Evo's are not an adjustable shock and might be mainly for the front IFS.

I have a Ridewell IFS suspension on my 2005 Magna. I received this email yesterday from John Henderson (888-898-3281);
"Thomas, we show the 88-1641sp3 are used only on the Neway IFS not on the Ridewell IFS.
The 8805-1011 FSD is the tag axle shock number.
The 9005-1025 is a 90 series FSD Koni does not show a sp3 version available for the Ridewell Suspension on any axle.
If you have the numbers from your original shocks we can double check that way to see What you have now."
The 9005-1025 is for the drive axle. In a prior email he said the fronts are 90-2497sp1. I don't know which axle the "88-1641sp3" fits.
I will wait to hear from this group, what new shock is available for my coach. I don't think the FSD series of shock is new.

The 99 as I recall, is an OTR shock used on European trucks. They brought some over to the States for the Wester RV Alpine owners to try. (You will see them advertised on IRV2 forum.) So not really a new shock, just a new shock becoming available in the States.
And good to know their are other options becoming available for CC owners:)!
Specially on Koni's. The Adjustable SP3 shocks seemed to get a good rep from owners that had them all around. I also know several that had the SP3 on the front IFS, and then ran FSD's on the Drive and Tag if applicable. Also seemed to get good reports.
When talking with Koni, might be worth asking them if the 99 on the IFS, and say FSD's and or SP3 on setting 1 for the Drive's and Tag's might complement each other(?).

According to Jim Ryan at Koni, these shocks were specifically designed for the country coach recently (non adjustable) and not from any other application. I don't know if these are specifically for the front only, but I believe so and I'm not sure if they have an application for the rear. I left my Road Kings on the rear as they are working ok for now

Considering there are possibly five different IFS suspensions for different models and changes in carrying capacities, there would have to be 5 different shocks. At a minimum three. TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731

This may be true, however front end weights and control are very similar. I don't know how the new koni shocks are valved, and how they did their testing. Would suggest the conversation go to koni with ones coach information.

They've been around for awhile, not a big deal, but mainly mentioning this again as many do not want to jump in on early cycle of a new product.
10/15/2013 is this release. The Alpine group have reported good results. And the shock is adding new models along the way. Yep, with CC having some shocks for some application.
It will be neat to hear reports as others move from older Koni Adjustable SP3 (or SP1/2) and some even have FSD's - to the EVO 99 and reporting real world differences:)!

Just found that they now have them for the 20,000# front axle on our rig.
Hendersons has them, 99B-3234 at $223.00 each.
Need to finish my taxes and order a set.
