Chris Snyder last summer removed all the mastic using a handheld vibrating tool removed the old skylight cover drilled additional new holes and used longer stainless screws to secure the cover to the wooden frame . Some times the factory used shorter screws that just threaded into the fiberglass and not the frame below. The flexing and vibrating would not only crack the plexiglass cover but split out the fiber glassand cause the mastic to separate. The trick is to get the right tension on the screws and to use the correct mastic. As he was restoring the Sky light he also removed all the mastic from other penetrations to the roof and resealed them in addition. As the front Air conditioner had just been replaced and the rear seals just replaced previously I am now set to face more years of travel. Its always great to see Chris, he has such a wealth of knowledge about our coaches. TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731
