Title: Wheel Stud source and # for 8.25 Wheel

I need a driver side, inside wheel stud for a 1995 Country Coach Magna 8.25 wheel.

The info from Gillig and the Gillig Parts manual says the stud, Meritor 20x1977, has been discontinued.

Has anyone found a source for this stud?

Dean: I have a 94 Concept on a Gillig Chasis. I needed a stud and simply took the broken one out and took it to a truck parts shop where they matched it. Barrie Boas 94 Concept 5111

Most any truck repair or truck tire place will have them.

Well, Les Schwab does not have these in their Truck oriented West Sacramento shop.

Gillig did not have these available.

Napa Auto lists Country Coach in their parts manuals (at least for windshield wipers), but could not cross reference the Euclid or Meritor part numbers when I furnished them.

Monday I will try Fleet Pride, which is a heavy duty truck parts source.

Take the old one one with you, they will match it up with Euclid brand or others..

Are you trying to buy it by part number or physically matching it up? The part number may not be available but it is by matching it up. The replacement might be a mm longer or something, but that is the way to do it.

Les Schwab in West Sacramento is trying to match it with vendor offerings.

The three part numbers I have, beginning with Gillig's, do not yield a match.

We have the axle model and serial number which is where we started with Gillig.

You need to physically match it. Trying to match part numbers is like trying to understand the Government.

Take it to a truck tire, truck repair or truck parts house and match it up.

Try the website below with your original part number. Sometimes they will automatically give you other options during the search.

It's going to be at Capitol clutch and brake but you need to have a sample , it might be 1 mm to 4 mm longer but with your steel wheel inside you have room

Op here.

Les Schwab Tire found the part by matching the removed stud. It does not match the styles provided by Gillig Parts manual and the subsequent part number crossovers that I could source online.

As of Tuesday, the new studs are now installed and although a bit longer fit well.

Hats off to Les Schwab Tire in Orangevale, Ca and their Manager Doug Nunn for staying with the search and resolving the issue in a timely and satisfactory manner.

I have always experienced quality service from Les Schwab Tire, especially after the initial sale.

Although this was just one of 10 inner wheel studs missing and safe to drive without, I was nervous having experienced one of our city route trucks losing a wheel on a crowded city street and striking people and objects.

So I worried as we have a trip planned for Christmas.

All is well, and a big "Thank You" to you folks with great recommendations for the solution.

Have a fun and great holiday season.
