Title: Best vacuum cleaner for your rig?

I know this is a bit off topic, but for those of you who do not have a built in vacuum....

What product do you use and why do you like it?

I currently have an old stick type that is practically useless. I tired of hauling my good Meile out to the MH every time I get home from a trip.

Looking for all your wisdom before I put down good money for an extra vacuum.

We have a Dyson, DC41 I think. The beater head is narrow enough the go between the bed and the closet. It's quite compact for an upright. The handle collapses for easy storage in the closet. It came from Bed, Bath & Beyond. About $430.

we use a Eureka lightweight Optima but they no longer make our model. What is similar is the Eureka Air Speed Pet Bagless. Ours is 12 amps (very important) and lightweight (12 pounds). The handle telescopes down so it will fit into our closet. Long cord. Downside is that it is bagless which means you have to clean the filter more often. Before that we had a Dirt Devil lightweight which also worked well. Whatever you buy, make sure it's 12 amps. If you want to spend more money, check out the Shark lightweight vacuums. They get better reviews but are way more expensive. The Eureka Air Speed Pet Bagless is $89 at Walmart. You can also read some reviews on Walmart.com - both the Eureka and Dirt Devil models get mixed reviews but mostly positive.

Another Meile vac fan! We have a Dyson stick one that works great. We also have one called Harmony by Electrolux because it's really good once every few days, but the Dyson is used daily or so. We did have a built-in vac in one of our other motorhomes, and I wasn't a fan of it.

I have an Electrolux Ergorapido Lithium cordless electric broom. It works fantastic on my tile floors & on my carpet. It is light weight, uses a lithium battery, has a cleanable filter system, & only cost $99 at Sam's Club. Best investment I have made for our coach.

We have found the Dyson cordless DC 41 to be a good vacuum for our 42ft/3 slide coach. Good for the toad too, as well as cleaning the air conditioner intakes and other vents. Pricey, but powerful, very compact, bagless, and extremely lightweight.

We carry a Rainbow system because it functions as a wet and dry vacuum. We have used Rainbow for the house since the 80's. There is a new company that is making a similar vacuum to the Rainbow that has a much better price. I also have a small cordless stick thing to use everyday since we have a dog.

We use Rainbow vacuums at home and in the coach. We travel with Cats and the vacuum removes the hair and dander, immerses it in water removing any chance of the dander being spread. We don't have to deal with vacuum bags either. With a full set of attachments I can reach all the tight narrow spots, and have the vibra-beeter to lift dirt and other particles imbedded in the carpet. Unfortunately, and fortunately the amount of tile is small, its on my knees to do the tile. I don't mean the vacuum isn't effective, but to get the grout clean and remove films deposited by liquids and grime hauled in and deposited on the entry tiles and steps only a good scrub brush used by hand can't be beat. I'm thankful we have the entry tiles. The Allure with its carpet in the entry area was a pain to keep stain free. TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731

Shark Rocket. Bought at Costco for about $150. It's corded, bag less, and very lightweight. Picks up an amazing amount of stuff. We have a long haired cat and it works great.

Second to my residential refer, my most prized possession is the Dyson DC59. It does it all, inside and out. Great on tile and the living room wool rug. It is the upgrade from the DC41.

Pricey? Yes, worth it? Definitely!

We just bought the Dyson V6 Motörhead cordless and love it. We were using our Dyson Animal that we brought from the house, but it took up too much space. We think the V6 actually does a better job.

We have a few v6 cradles and chargers I stock for sale. Personally we have one in the house and one in rv. We simply transfer the handheld to the rv before we hit the road!

My wife and I love the Dyson 59. That particular model is a pet hair model. It swivels into the smallest of places including between the toilet and wall. It is a stick model that comes in pieces (very simple to click together) and is cordless. Just enough charge to do the whole coach before putting it away. Takes up very little space and was about $400.
