Hi Y'all.........Happy New Year

My new to me but relatively old 03 Allure has presented a new to me problem.
I entered the following issue on iRV2 but, while polite, everybody pretty much couldn't believe that the following problem was possible Hopefully, there are some CC owners who are either driving one of these affected coaches or have some vague memory of this problem and the best solution Let me preface this with, (1) ride height is fine (2) didn't back over anything(3) didn't air up the suspension and then drop it on a stump

Back in '03, CC offered the ISL, a tag axle, and a bedroom slide.....all of which, apparently, created a clearance problem with the engine CC's solution was to drop the engine down in the saddle.........leaving the oil pan sitting about 7 inches above the terra firma............which ultimately resulted in a lot of cracked, crunched oil pans Ostensibly, CC offered a warranty fix, then eventually started charging 300-900 buckaroos for the fix (as per my web searches) I'm about to take the coach to a truck/rv shop that can do some fabricating and was wondering what, eventually, became the best solution to the problem

I know many of you are probably recovering from a wild and wooly New Year's celebration and I really hate to bring back bad memories of this really old problem but I really would appreciate any help you can give.

I would also be interested in how CC engineered the newer coaches, with even larger engines and more slides to avoid this problem.......the ISL is a little 8.9 liter and subsequently, CC started shoehorning 11-14 liter motors in there with, apparently, no oil pan issues.......intriguing as to how that was accomplished

Thanks!
Jack

our Allure is an '04 #31065 with an ISL370 and it has a plastic oil pan with no clearance issues. We don't have a tag axle. We take our coach to Cummins for service.

Eventually I had to have my fiberglass pan replaced not because of running over anything but because the aux. fill fitting , hose and hardware were to heavy and not supported properly cracking the pan where attached. So $900+ dollars and I had a new metal pan. I have this piece of sheet metal that is supported by the rear frame and a crossover bracket that is suspended about and 1 1/2" below the pan. I have scraped it four or 5 times, but the metal pan has survived with no signs of scrapes, scratches or dents. make sure you stick with the 12r tires or the pan will even be closer to the ground when using 295 tires.
