We have a Pioneer AV Receiver/DVD Player with 6.5 inch Wide Display model AVH-P5700DVD. The rear view monitor is also on the screen. My problem is that the flip up screen does not flip up. When the open/close button is touched the screen opens about two inches and stops, Touch again and the screen retracts. I phoned Pioneer and did not get any help to solve the problem. Suggestions will be appreciated.

Peter, I had a similar unit in my 07 Intrigue with problems like yours. I'd guess that Pioneer doesn't make or support this unit any more. I replaced it. See my article about the replacement in the December County Coach International eNews for details.

Peter,

I had a similar problem with the same Pioneer model in my 2006 Allure. The gears had been stripped and the screen was useless at the "just above horizontal" angle. I had it replaced with a Kenwood model with a screen that is always open. Didn't make sense to me to have extra mechanical things that can fail when there is no specific use for the dash area behind the Pioneer 'pop-up' screen, so I went with a double din setup. I can get the model number if you wish.

Hi Lee

I read your article about replacing the Pioneer unit in your dash. We are getting close to replace ours. Are you still happy with your Kenwood? Any other suggestions on Dash A/V Receivers for Rear View Camera.
