Has anyone tried to DIY rescreen Segi window screens as well as a PTL front door? Is it very tricky to get a nice tight result?

Done it a few times. Just takes the tool available at any hardware store, good scissors or snips, and a second person to keep the material stretched. Take a look at few youtube videos and you can do it.
