Tried to start our coach this morning. It tried to crank but quit very quickly. Our battery is only 1 month old. It is reading 12.7 volts with a multimeter. Using a boost from the house batteries does not help.
My question is should I have more than 12.7 V? This is a wet cell battery. Coach is in our driveway so I have time to figure it out.

Best advice.....Call "Batteries Plus". They make house calls. May be your inverter. You should be seeing 13.4 or better not 12.75.

He didn't say if plugged but he is trying to start it.
If not plugged in 12.4-12.5 is fully charged.
Check ground connections at battery and engine.

Has it been plugged in to power? Your coach has one 8D battery so if you have a meter check the voltage, clean the + & - check the ground. If it is low then your echo charger may be bad, mine went out so I installed the Magnum Combiner works great. I also installed this in the power port up front so when I walk in I can see what my voltage is before I start.

Yes to checking battery terminals and grounds. If that does not get it going, also check the power feeds to the starter it self, and clean if needed.
Agree that that reading, I assume an 'at rest' chassis battery, should give you ample power to crank your C9 awake.
If as you are checking things, you feel you have any question on the chassis is seeing a charge. Plug in, turn on your charger. Once your house batteries are in float mode, take a reading on the chassis battery. You should see a higher, maybe 13.1V + or - .4V, reading. That would confirm it is getting a charge...

Tom, 12.7 volts is very good for an at rest battery. I had this same problem the morning after replacing two 8D starters on my coach. Even the boost would not help. A thorough cleaning of the battery connections solved the problem.

Although my terminals appeared to be clean, I took them apart recleaned and tighten the bolts. Engine fired right up.
Always, always, always check battery terminals first. I actually knew that, but didn't do it.

I would wonder why your boost switch did not get you started? My boost was wired incorrectly at the factory as I found out the hard way when the engine start battery went downhill.

I think it is normal that the boost won't help when chassis battery connections a bad. The boost will connect the house batt to the chassis batt using the same bad connection as the starter. The result is still a bad connection from the now boosted chassis batt.

Poor battery connection (dirty terminals) can also lower voltage which can result in locking the Allison transmission in gear. Learned that the hard way, and am now very attentive to keeping terminals clean.

Being relatively new to the CC world, I've found that 90% of my problems have been electrical. Keep those terminal ends, connections and battery posts clean and tight and your trips will be fun.
