After two years, a lot of money, and a lot of good advice from a lot of CC owners and others I feel that I about ready to embark on our first short trip .I have gotten to the point that I can start paying attention to less important things that need attention. The surround sound system at this time is inoperable. It uses a Sony STRD790 receiver but it has a huge power amp in one of the bay's.I took the receiver out when I installed the the flat screen tv. When I removed the receiver I noticed that the cover was loose on it .I removed the cover and saw that the power transformer had been taken out. Thus my question. Does anyone know if CC only used the Sony receiver as a tuner ?Could this be why the transformer is gone? I was going to buy an updated receiver but now I am not really sure. This is on a 1994 BC-400-HD CC PREVOST conversion .

My new Tiffin had a Panasonic DVD that was supposed to interact with the surround sound, but there was no HDMI input for th e dish Satellite receiver making it more or less worthless. I went to Best Buy and bought a Yamaha Home Theater RXV377BL. I highly recommend it. I added a powered wireless floor subwoofer. I also bought a new blu ray player and jettisoned the Panasonic altogether,

My coach already has two big sub woofers installed. The kicker is that someone prior to me got up in the entertainment section and started twisting wires (which is never good) and true to CC form, there is info in the literature on the in dash stereo nothing on the surround sound. Right now what has me stumped is the fact that part of the receiver is missing and I can't figure if this was another one of CC's better?? ideas or if a previous owner removed the part of it .

Did away with the outdated surround sound system. Installed new tv and added a sound bar with a remote wireless subwoofer. We love it

Your modification is exactly what I'm contemplating, I'd like to ditch the Yamaha receiver to claim back some needed space in the AV cabinet in order to install an Apple TV, a router and a couple other small bits and pieces.

Can you tell me what size, make and model you went with on the TV and also which sound bar you chose and where you mounted it?

Many thanks.

I would really love to keep my sound system if there is anyway possible. It has all Boise speakers A giant amp and two big sub woofers so if I can get it to working it would make the old Prevost rock!!!
