Hi,
Does anyone have experience with "Protect-a-Tow" or have recommendations for other devices to protect the front of our 2015 Ford Edge toad? Our coach has a full width CC mud flap.

I use both the Roadmaster vertical rock shield and the horizontal screen between coach and toad. Works great!

I don't have any personal experience, however, last summer I met a gentleman that used Protect-A-Tow on his rig.
He had been using it for a few years and stated that he was very happy with the product.

Have towed my 2011 Edge for 5 years, about 40,000 miles, no mudflap . . . nary a ding. I don't need n0 stinking front protection. Waste of money.

Agreed about the mud flap. But I think it really depends on the roads you are driving on.

I sold Protec-a-Tow for many years and feel they provide several advantages over other brands.
1-It connects below your tow bar so it protects your lower front and park lights. This also protects the tow bar.
2-All of the trash, sand rocks etc. are channeled under your car.
3-Protects your hitch, wiring & safety cables
4-Very easy to hookup
5-About half the cost of Roadmaster and Blue Ox both of which attach above the tow bar.
6-I have heard reports of paint chips due to the plastic shields reflecting rocks onto the rear of the coach. (unconfirmed)
Disclaimer: I see that Protect-a-Tow still has me listed as a dealer however I do not currently stock them so, "I don't have a dog in the fight!" I just feel that they are by far the best solution.

I did not like having to drill holes in by fiberglass coach bumper and Jeep under carriage parts to hold the eye bolts which it uses to hold material tight. I went with Blue Ox Kar Guard II and am very happy with the performance and stowing.

Tried one that was similar to the protect a tow in Alaska. Still caused over 4 grand in damage. I suggest you go with a $50 deductible and accept the damage on long rock road, but it works fairly well on the rest of the highways

Yeah I agree with Jessie, try driving 10 miles down a gravel road with no mud flaps and see what your toad looks like.
