Country Coach Owners

On the same day my husband went in for open heart surgery, my 10 year old Norcold stopped cooling. Yikes...really bad timing. Waiting for diagnosis from repairman but wondered if wiser and calmer forum minds might prevail and pass on any advice. We have extended warranty coverage with $1000 deductible. Not sure how to access past posts from my phone here in the hospital so will appreciate any comments based on my limited information that is available here. Oh...surgery was successful and recovery underway, slow but sure.

Sorry to hear of your husband's health issue but the good news is a recovery! Given the age of the unit, if a repair is not simple I'd try to have the warranty cover part of a new residential unit. The challenge short term is managing the fresh food. Don't know your location to suggest service center.

Hi Sue,

I'm so sorry this has happened to your husband thus to you (not the Norcold!), and so glad he's improving. To your Norcold problem, we got rid of our Norcold about 4-5 years ago, so we've had a residential Samsung 3 door fabulous wonderful refrigerator since then. It's great! It was not a big deal to get the Norcold out and the Samsung in. If you're not aware, many Norcolds have caught fire and caused the motorhome to be a total disaster. We felt it was dangerous to keep the Norcold, and nothing was wrong with ours other than it didn't cool very well, and we were never sure what temp it would be. I'm happy to help further if you have any interest.

Best to you and your husband!

We used a couple blocks of ice to keep the temps down while waiting for a repair?

Depending upon where you are I would be willing to help. We replaced our Norcold many years ago and the only question we had was why didn't we do it a lot sooner! Need to know your name, coach model/year, etc.
