I am an owner of a 1996 Country Coach. In May 2001, we received 3 recalls from CC regarding left front tires and leveling valves. We took the coach in for these repairs, per CC request to take it to a spcecific repair shop, to have the recall work done. They were to install new Toyo tires and replace all the other items in the recalls. Prior to the recalls, we had experienced a left front tire blow-out on the coach when it was new. Since the recall we have experienced 2 more blow-outs..one was back in Nov. on one of the left back tires, the most recent was last weekend while traveling on I-75 South near Ft. Myers. At the time of the last blow-out the motor home had less than 6K miles on the new tires, per the recall. We experienced quite a bit of damage, last weekend, due to the separation of the left front tire. Also, at that time we noticed the right front tire had worn a large groove in the wheel well. My question is....has anyone else owning a 1996 Country Coach had this experience of know of anyone who has?

We bought a pre-owned 1996 36' Intrique last June. Although, we have not experienced the same problems you have, I did notice the same type of groove marks in the upper portion of the wheel well area. This is in both the front wheel well areas. On occassion, we sometimes hit a dip in the road and will fill like the coach has bottomed out as It sounds like the tire hits the wheel well top. This only occurs when traveling around 60+ mph (No Toad). Only happens occassionally! CC has our new ownership info and they haven't sent anything in the way of recalls and/or warnings?

I called CC after we brought ours last August to find out if there were any recalls on our coach. CC says there haven't been any for our particular coach. Seems kinda strange to me that one would have recalls and another wouldn't.

Interesting... the NHTSA site shows valve and tire recalls for the 96 intrigues and for the 98 Allure. These are the only ones I checked.
I wonder if it is a length issue - maybe the 40 footers are recalled and the 36's not? I'm just guessing about this...

It all depends if you have a slide, what type, your length, whether or not the ride height valves have been changed, how much weight is on that left front tire, which shocks you have and finally which tires. Sounds complicated, but it isn't. Split weigh the coach, find Michelin tire chart, find your size and weight and inflate the tires accordingly. Add ten pounds if you drive over 65 and if the new tire pressure is higher than what you have been running during 70 degree plus weather, buy new 275R80's yesterday if not sooner. That's why my new Intrigue has 12R's. TWI, 98 Allure 36' descuttes 30255, 2004 Intrique Ovation 42' 11731. The new tires will lower your cruise rpm and will increase your fuel milage if you can hold your speed down and stay out of the throttle.

On 40' units they sometimes replaced front and rear tires, call or email Doug Rutherford or Kevin Kiscoan, they have the answers, at the factory.

The recall concerning replacement of front tires was for coaches with galley slide.

And I called CC asking about recalls on the '98 36-ft Intrigue #10571 we bought in
June and was told there are none. Maybe it's because it's a "shorter" non-slideout
model, therefore less stressed than longer ones with slides?? I did have it weighed and it was 3,825 lbs below GVWR completely loaded with water, fuel, and all our crap ... err, quality supplies and us and our dogs.
Regardless, I replaced the like-new (in AND out) 6+ year old tires and valve stems. And I inflate them IAW the appropriate load/inflation table.
